MILAN - After the meeting with Mongolian president Tsakhia Elbegdorj, Inter
president Massimo Moratti paused with reporters to speak about Inter's
current situation after the victory last night in Lille: "It was a lovely
evening; interesting and important for many reasons. It puts us in a position
to regain our confidence, to understand that we are still the same team. Of
course, there is still much to do, but not as much as was previously
thought."
The Nerazzurri president was then asked about the performance of Mauro Zarate
and his 'change of gear'. Moratti responded: "He is moving into the gear
that he knows. He needs space. He is a player who knows how to beat his man,
who has courage. And we need this. He did very well alongside the attackers of
Sneijder and Pazzini. They all did very well. The attack seemed to me to be
functioning smoothly. And then Milito provided security, as he knows how to
move on the pitch. He is intelligent and he put us in a position to have
something in attack that would help the rest of the team. The spectre of
relegation was being mentioned? Did I ever think about it? Well, if we want to
rain on the parade…" the president concluded, smiling.
