MILAN – Upon entering the Saras offices, president Massimo Moratti stopped to
answer more questions regarding yesterday evening's victory.
inter.it provides the full version of the Nerazzurri president's statements:
Can we say that the victory in Lille has provided calm?
"Yes, without a doubt. It was important to do well last night because it
was the Champions League, and also so that the group would start having faith
in itself again."
Wesley Sneijder could be considered a panacea for Inter's ills?
"The panacea is the fact that all the players have found greater security,
and Sneijder is a certain kind of player, also with significant fighting
spirit, who permits the others to ensure that their work will be
successful."
Last night also saw Maruro Zarate's first assist of the season.
"Yes, his first assist of the season, for which he will win a prize… [the
President smiled]. But I think that in general he faced the game well. He
caused serious problems for their defence and he responded exactly as we knew
he was capable of."
And so is it time to proceed the same way in the league?
"Of course, we will try to also do well in the league, where we are
running a bit behind. But we want to take it match by match."
