MILAN – This afternoon Massimo Moratti answered questions from some of the journalists waiting outside the Saras offices in Milan.
You can read the Nerazzurri president's statements in full here on inter.it:
President, would you say the team is going through a difficult moment?
"I'd say so but I firmly believe that the foundations are in place for us to do better. We do have to pick ourselves up, that's for sure."
Why do you think Inter are in the bottom half of the table - a position we're not used to seeing them in?
"That's a simple question that I'd like to be able to answer. It's a funny moment. It's worrying when you find yourselves in situations like this because no one likes to look bad. And you hope to figure out how to put it all right. We simply must dig ourselves out of this."
What was behind your outburst regarding refereeing decisions? Was it the result of seeing the team in such a lowly position or does it go beyond than that?
"No, it's got nothing to do with the league standings. It's to do with the fact that three of the four penalties awarded against us weren't penalties. That's all. Mine was quite a mild outburst; it wasn't such a bad thing."
As a percentage, how much do you think the refereeing decisions have had a negative influence?
"Who knows. We've played badly too."
