FACCHETTI: "A WONDERFUL FEELING"

MILAN - In reply to a question about Juan Sebastian Veron after Inter's Champions League victory over Ajax, Giacinto Facchetti said: "He has improved tremendously as a player. I would like to see him back in his national team because he deserves it. I hope he is called up. I have also said this to the Argentine FA's president.

"Adriano? Unfortunately he missed a penalty and he was disheartened by this," said Facchetti, who also commented on the press rumours of a Ronaldo return. "I only want to talk about those who are here. I will only say that if he is not here it's because he wanted to leave."

Before kick-off UEFA officials presented Facchetti, Figo and the Great Inter players of the 1963/64 and 1964/65 European Cup triumphs with awards as part of the ongoing European Cup/Champions League 50th anniversary celebrations. "It was a nice moment," Facchetti admitted. "I hadn't seen some of them for some time. Being back on the pitch with old friends was a strange feeling and a special emotion."
