SILAO (Mexico) – Mexico's "tricolor" flag – green, white and red – is almost
identical to that of Italy, and the two countries joined in the name of
solidarity.
It took place in Silao, in the heart of Mexico, at Pirelli's new plant that was inaugurated yesterday by Marco Tronchetti Provera along with Mexican president Felipe Calderon.
Coinciding with the opening of the plant in Silao (in the State of Guanajuato) was the opening of the "Inter Campus Pirelli Silao" project, created by Inter with the support of Pirelli, with the aim of creating a gathering place for children.
It was an event of extraordinary significance for Mexico as well as for the 70 children who attended the opening ceremony.
The Mexican president, accompanied by Pirelli's chairman immediately after unveiling the sign for the new plant, visited the pitch where the children of Inter Campus, dressed in blue and black, awaited him to present him with the special shirt that had been made for this occasion.
The opening ceremony of the Pirelli plant was also the official inauguration of the Inter Campus project, as stated by Tronchetti Provera in the presence of journalists from both the Mexican and international press at the presentational press conference for the new plant in Mexico.
The company has taken on the responsibility of supporting and guaranteeing
sporting activity in Silao, making use of the expertise of the Inter Campus
staff as well as the educational experience they have gained in the 24
countries around the world where they are active.
Soon the 70 children of the "Casa hogar Peter Pan", coming from the most deprived areas in Silao, will be joined by the children of the factory's employees.
