LILLE - "I'm glad to be available again. I'm only sorry about being out for three weeks. Now I'm ready and I can't wait to get on the pitch." The opening statements from Wesley Sneijder, the player chosen by Claudio Ranieri for the press conference on the eve of Matchday 3 of the 2011/12 UEFA Champions League at the Stadium Lille Métropole.
"I think the current situation for the team is not the best with 4 points from 6 games, but the season can start now, victory after victory. Also because now the team is getting back players, aside from the absence of Forlan. But now we're thinking of the Champions League; we'll think about the Serie A on Wednesday," analysed Sneijder.
The Dutchman was then asked about Lille, their Champions League opponents: "We've studied the opponent quite well. They have good individual players. Then tomorrow we'll see what will happen on the pitch.
"We're the same team as two years ago, the one that won everything on the pitch. We mustn't do anything else but work. I'm not worried about the situation, because I believe in this group. We just have to work," added the midfielder regarding the delicate moment through which the Nerazzurri are going.
"We'll try to play our game, starting from the good things we've done so far, but taking care of the slip-ups. If we play as we know how to and take to the pitch with the right spirit, the results will come. I'm sure of it," said Sneijder.
"Playing under pressure has never scared me. Actually, I've played some of my best games when under pressure," the Dutchman declared when it was pointed out that the pressure can only be higher at this point.
