STRAMACCIONI: "SEE IT AGAIN, UNDERSTAND, IMPROVE"

"We won't go far in this league if we give away goals like that. We're not a great team yet"

VERONA – Andrea Stramaccioni was interviewed by Inter Channel after his Primavera team were beaten in the league for the first time this season: "What made the difference today was us, in a negative sense, and we should be really annoyed with ourselves. We can't expect to play a leading role in this league if we give away goals like we did this afternoon. That's not the sort of thing great teams do. We're not a great team yet but we're working to become one. We were good in possession and we created lots of chances but you won't go anywhere if you hand the opposition two goals on a plate like that." Stramaccioni was seeking no excuses: "We have a lot of work to do. We won't make a drama out of this but we can't hide our heads in the sand. In all honesty, and anyone who saw the game can confirm this, there was a point with the score at 2-2 when we deserved to be in front. We can't afford to go back to Milan with zero points in the bag. And losing like that leaves a bitter taste in your mouth. Still, there's only one remedy for it and that's to get back to winning ways." The Nerazzurri U-19 coach also commented on Duncan being shown a straight red card in the 90th minute for an unsporting gesture: "I haven't seen the replay but if he made a mistake he'll take responsibility for it. I personally don't tolerate unsporting behaviour and nor does the club, so we'll look at it again to understand what happened."
