FIFA CREDITS RONALDO WITH FIRST GOAL AGAINST COSTA RICA

SEOUL - (ANSA) The FIFA Technical Study Group announced earlier today that they have credited Ronaldo with Brazil's first goal against Costa Rica, scored after ten minutes of the first half.

Immediately after the match, which Brazil won 5-2, FIFA declared that the goal was an own goal by Costa Rican defender Marin. In the changing rooms, Ronaldo protested strongly, claiming to have touched the ball that he said: "Would have finished in the net even without Marin's deflection."

This morning's announcement sees Ronaldo occupy second place in the World Cup top scorers list with 4 goals, along with Denmark’s Tomasson. German striker Klose currently leads with 5 goals.
