MIHAJLOVIC: "MANCINI TALKS TO EVERYONE"

APPIANO GENTILE - Sinisa Mihajlovic news conference (3):

Don't you think there's too much player rotation in the Inter defence?
"It could be easier when you play with the same teammate all the time. It's a matter of automatisms. But you can let in goals all the same. A proven pair makes things easier, but it's a defensive and not defence problem at Inter."

Which defender do you get on best with in the centre of defence?
(Mihajlovic smiles) "I get well with everyone. It's probably them that don't get on with me... Jokes aside, I prefer to play with a right-footed player like Cordoba or Burdisso seeing as I'm left-footed. With Materazzi? We have only played together once against Chievo. He did well and I did very badly. But objectively we're not the best pair because we're both left-footed and have the same characteristics."

Have you ever given Roberto Mancini any advice?
"I have never given advice to Mancini. He has played more than me and knows football better than me. We might talk after matches - he says what he thinks and so do we. Balance is needed in the team. Each one of us must give his best, be focused and put into practice what he does during the week. We must try to be more compact, and when we do there won't be any problems. The good level of dialogue between the coach and the players is important."

What do you have to say about the criticism Toldo has come in for?
"For me Toldo has always been one of the best goalkeepers. When he remained on the bench, I always said he would have reacted, and he was the best on the pitch against Fiorentina. You shouldn't always look for someone to blame. The coach does? I don't ever remember Mancini having done this, it's not his style. I can say this because I know him well. He has never blamed anyone and has always publicly defended his players. If before the Juventus match he said he'd have taken Buffon away from the Bianconeri he only said it because Buffon has often saved them when they have given chances to their opponents. I'm convinced that Capello would have said Adriano in reply to the same question."
